Hi Bruce – you may remember from the old days in the Cantata Singers. A friend sent me your website, and I’m enjoying reading your blogs. Well written and informative. However, just a comment about the Cultural Olympiad piece. I can appreciate that for people living in the Lower Mainland that it must have been a wonderful experience, and a very culturally enriching one which will have a lasting legacy. However, from the perspective of someone who now lives in a different part of the province, for those of us who having been trying to make living in the arts sector the cuts you refer to have had a devastating effect. Additionally, because of our distance from the Lower Mainland have experienced very little (if any) positive outcome. Speaking on behalf of many of my hard-working artist friends and colleagues it’s as if all the funding and cultural activity has been forcibly sucked into a black hole centered in one very small geographical area of the province. So please keep in mind that all the performances, exhibits and installations that you have been able to enjoy are not a common experience for artists and audiences in the rest of the province, and indeed we are the ones paying the price without any of the benefits, other than the torch ceremony coca-cola hangover!

I have been trying to think of some way to flog Chuck’s art work, and never even thought of social media marketing! I downloaded Journalistics, and am truly amazed at all the info available online.
