There are times when several of my interests converge, and this is one of them! I sing with Vancouver’s renowned Chor Leoni Men’s Choir (directed by the fabulous Diane Loomer, C.M.), and I’m the choir’s Director of Communications as well. I’m also the Marketing Director for Elektra Women’s Choir, another amazing Vancouver ensemble directed by Morna Edmundson.
Both choirs are performing as part of Welcome the World: A Choral Gala, presented with the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad as part of the 21st Winter Olympic Games being held in Vancouver/Whistler. Two other brilliant choirs fill out the roster for this exciting event, musica intima vocal ensemble, and Vancouver Chamber Choir.
I’ve been hired to handle the publicity campaign for Welcome the World: A Choral Gala, and it’s been a lot of fun so far. (*ahem* The photo being used to publicize the event was taken by me, as the fortuitous result of an summer skate around the Stanley Park seawall!) The concert takes place at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church (corner of Nelson and Burrard) in Vancouver, on Tuesday February 9 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $35, general admission.
It’s been a treat to work with my marketing colleagues from musica intima and VCC. We’re looking forward to singing for you at what is going to be an amazing evening of choral music. Tickets are on sale now, available from Elektra and Chor Leoni members and from Ticketmaster!
